Events celebrated at Rathkeevin Nursing Home:
Over the last month, we at Rathkeevan have had a great start to the year 2020 with a handful of recent events. On January 25th, we hosted Chinese New Year with a celebratory tea party, traditional Chinese games & music, an arts & craft session, and learning about the traditional Chinese cultures. Whilst in February we celebrated Valentine’s Day with live music from Billy Fitzgerald, a tea party, Valentines Games, arts & crafts, and we even got some relationship advice from our residents which will no doubt come in handy in the future.
Also in the months of January and February we celebrated the birthdays of some of our residents with fresh cream birthday cakes baked especially by our catering staff as well as some partying, music, party games with family and friends gathering to celebrate the joyous days filled with fun.
We held our Residents Meeting for the month of January in which residents get the chance to express their needs and acknowledge what is happening throughout the home and make improvements if needed. We also held our voting for the #GeneralElection 2020 on January 30th. The residents each got to cast their vote of preference.
A new games club came onto the activities agenda here at Rathkeevan in February with our new Bridge Club being established. Our Activities Coordinators formed an alliance with the local Clonmel District Bridge Club who visit once a week to play Bridge with our residents whether they’re professional players or even learning a new trick and past time.
We have a handful of events coming up in the month of March that you are all more than welcome to join and come along to – the more the merrier they say!! A list of upcoming events is attached down below.
A short panto is written and directed by Louise Garcia featuring the brave, the fearless, the heroes, the villain and the eternally youthful Peter Pan. A Christmas sleepover! What can possibly go wrong? Laughter, scheming and tonnes of Christmas spirit.
This beautiful hamper, hand made Xmas cards, Knitted wool winter scarves and coloured print of Dungarvan Harbor and Copper coast views is being raffled and created by our residents in aid of Clonmel District wheelchair Association
Special thanks to the uproar rock chorus for performing for our residents in Rathkeevan nursing home on Saturday 7th December. Their gift of beautiful hamper greatly appreciated. They put on an impressive show and our residents are still talking about it.
